The U-32 Student Services Office provides information and resources for students, families, faculty and community members for life at U-32 and life after U-32 via Naviance Student.

Please click on Naviance to access our website.

U-32 TRANSCRIPTS - To request your U-32 transcript, please e-mail Autumn Wheeler at auwheeler@u32.org or Tracy Martin at tmartin@u32.org. In the e-mail please include your year of graduation, your name at the time of graduation and the e-mail or mailing address where the transcript should be sent. Transcripts will typically be sent out within three business days.

PARENT RESOURCES:

Remember to frequent Naviance / Student as this web-based program will help U-32 students explore colleges and careers, build a resume, manage timelines and deadlines for making decisions about colleges and careers, sign up for college visits, and find out what scholarships are available.  Naviance will also house Personalized Learning Plans (PLPs) starting with students in grade 7.

~ Alternative Pathways Outside of U-32 ~

Central Vermont Career Center (CVCC) ~ Students can complete their U-32 SLOs at our local career center. CVCC programs include: Automotive Technology, Baking & Culinary Arts, Building Trades, Co-Op Education, Cosmetology, Design & Fabrication, Digital Media Arts, Electrical Technology, Emergency Services, Exploratory Technology, Medical Professions, Natural Resources & Sustainability, and Plumbing & Heating.   More information is available at their website: cvtcc.org

Randolph Technical Career Center ~ U-32 students can apply to any programs not offered at CVCC or if they were not accepted into CVCC. Programs include: Manufacturing & Fabrication, Diversified Agriculture, Automotive Technology, Construction Trades & Management, Criminal Justice & Cybersecurity, Culinary Arts & Hospitality Management, Dental Assisting, Diesel Technology, Digital Filmmaking & Media Arts, Electrical Technology, Health Careers, Work Based Learning, Education Services, and Pre-Technical Foundations. More information is available at their website: orangesouthwest.org/rtcc. ***U-32 does not provide transportation to RTCC.

YouthBuild VT ~ ReSOURCE YouthBuild is a 12-month program for youth that are looking for alternative ways to earn a diploma while gaining job training and certifications. Students ages 16-24 have the opportunity to graduate with their high school diploma, be trained in construction skills earning certificates in OSHA10, NCCER, First Aid & CPR Training, and as part-time AmeriCorps members earn an AmeriCorps Education Award. YouthBuild is a Monday-Thursday program. More information is available at their website: resourcecvt.org/training-programs/youthbuild. ***U-32 does not provide transportation to YouthBuild.

Northlands JobCorps ~ -Northlands Job Corps teaches eligible young people the skills they need to become employable and independent and places them in meaningful jobs or further education. Job Corps offers hands-on career technical training in high-growth industries and can also help them get a GED or high school diploma if they don't already have one. Job Corps is fully funded by the federal government and is FREE to students and their families. Programs include: Advanced Manufacturing, Automotive and Machine Repair, Building Construction & Technology, Office Administration, Clinical Medical Assistant, Culinary Arts, and Urban Forestry.  Housing is available and students can also apply to other campuses. More information is available at their website: northlands.jobcorps.gov. ***Students must withdraw from U-32 to attend, and live on campus in Vergennes, VT.

Central Vermont Adult Basic Education ~ CVABE's adult education services are designed to help learners 16 years and older. CVABE offers instruction in learning basic skills (reading, writing, math and computer literacy), credential programs for high school diplomas and GED®, and college and career readiness. CVABE has six Learning Centers including Barre & Montpelier. More information is available at their website: cvabe.org. ***Withdraw from U-32 is based on TABE scores.

Lisa joined U-32 in 2007, bringing with her 15 years of counseling experience and four years of social work experience. Ellen Cooke  |  HS Counselor 

Ellen joined U-32 in 1990. She is the liaison to the Central Vermont Career Center, 9th Grade Academy, and Faculty Advisor for Branching Out. Her other responsibilities include college and career counseling, individual and group work and she provides support for 9th and 10th grade faculty TAs. Nate Lovitz  |  HS Counselor

A native of Central Maine, Nate joined the U-32 community after earning his Masters of Science in School Counseling from the University of Vermont. Nate earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Education at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. He then spent four years in Jackson, Wyoming, working as a literacy aide and whitewater raft guide. Nate also spent a year in Augusta, Georgia, where he worked as a long-term sub at Burke County High School. Nate is extremely excited to aid students in social and emotional growth, help develop a strong and caring community, and explore social justice issues in his school counselor role. Cairsten Keese  |  HS Counselor

Cairsten earned her B.A. in Psychology from Westfield State University in Westfield, Massachusetts. After graduation she moved to Arizona and earned her M.Ed. in School Counseling from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. Caristen relocated to Vermont in 2014 and joined the Student Services team at U-32. She is very passionate about her field of work, especially when it comes to post-secondary planning. Jamie Spector  |  HS Counselor

Jamie Spector is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in school-based interventions, multicultural work with immigrants and refugees, family therapy, trauma-transformed practice and community organizing.  Jamie brings 28 years of experience as a Social Worker in both the United States and internationally.  She received her Masters Degree in Social Work in 1996 from Catholic University of America, in Washington, DC, where she is from.  Jamie loves working at U-32 supporting students, staff and families.  Jamie believes that everyone in our community can sometimes support others and sometimes we need support. Jamie also works closely with many community organizations to bring more services to our campus and our school community. Jade Walker  |  MS Counselor

Jade joined the U-32 community after earning her Masters of Arts in Education and School Counseling from Goddard College. Jade earned her Bachelor's Degree in English and Environmental Studies from University of Vermont. Jade spent a decade as Founder and Director of an educational urban farm in West Philadelphia. She then moved back to Vermont and worked for Voices for Vermont's Children doing family and child-centered policy and advocacy work in Montpelier. Jade has an extensive background in trauma-informed schools, restorative practices, and social and environmental justice initiatives with young people. Jen Pelletier  |  Counselor

Jen joined the U-32 community in 2023 after 11 years working as a licensed mental health and substance use counselor. Tracy Martin  |  Office Manager

Tracy joined U-32 in 2007 as administrative support for students and school counselors. She also provides backup support for the WCUUSD Data Manager with VT AOE reporting and online registrations. Tracy has a Bachelor's Degree in Child Welfare from Vermont College at Norwich University. She can be reached at tmartin@u32.org.

 

 

Autumn R. Wheeler  |  Administrative Assistant

Born and raised in Central Vermont, Autumn joined U-32 to support the Student Services and Special Education departments. She earned her two BAs in Psychology and Media Arts from Northern Vermont University-Johnson Campus. Prior to U-32, Autumn worked as a Behavioral Interventionist at Spaulding High School, and as a Mental Health Technician at CVMC. They are passionate about mental health and inclusivity and volunteer for local and national organizations such as the Rainbow Bridge Community Center and the Trevor Project. In their leisure time, Autumn enjoys engaging in activities such as photography, drawing, and gaming. You can contact Autumn at auwheeler@u32.org.

Amber Larrabee, BSN, RN |  Nurse

Amber joined the U-32 team in 2021 with 18 years of nursing experience within the Central VT Community.  She has spent most of her adult life chipping away at furthering her nursing education.  Amber holds an Associate Degree in Nursing from Vermont Technical College and is actively enrolled in the Bachelor of Science Nursing program with a goal of completion by fall of 2022.  She has many years of experience with care coordination and community health nursing.  Amber will be managing the 504 case plans as well as providing our students with health advocacy and support to facilitate an active and engaged student during their career at U-32. She can be reached at alarrabee@u32.org or 802-229-0321 x5134.

Nicole Mintken, BSN, RN |  Nurse

Nicole joined the U-32 team in 2023 with 15 years of nursing experience after graduating from Norwich University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in 2008. She has many years of experience in Family Medicine, long-term and assistive living care. Nicole has held various nursing management roles, including the Norwich University Infirmary from 2017-2021 concurrent with a family medicine practice, and more recently an assisted living facility. Prior to nursing, Nicole was a Licensed Pharmaceutical Technician and was a Pre-Pharmacy major at Western New England University. Nicole grew up in Central Vermont and graduated from Spaulding High School in 2001. She currently lives in Central Vermont with her husband Carl and two children, Carmella and John.
